Probate Valuations

Working with individuals and professional clients we offer a tailored Probate Valuation Service. 

• In order to complete your probate submission for HMRC, you are required to obtain an accurate appraisal of an estate’s assets at the current open market value and complete the IHT 407 form. Our valuations are set out in the same format as the IHT407 forms making it easier to complete.
• We can value the entire contents of a house or selected items as specified including fine art, jewellery, watches, antique furniture and works of art, contemporary art and design, specialist collectables, artwork, wine, silver, and household items. Valuations are undertaken by our experienced team of specialists.
• In accordance with legal guidance we are required to itemise objects worth £1,500 or more individually. Objects that fall below this value are represented as part of group totals. 
• We can of course also provide a more comprehensive valuation if required for family division or for specifically bequeathed items.
• Once probate has been granted, our team of specialists can advise on a sales strategy through our calender of specialist sales or by Private treaty.
• We can manage a complete house clearance service should this be of use.

We will typically complete our appraisal within one visit and, depending on the scale of the valuation, we aim to deliver the finished document within a 10 working days of the appointment. 

In line with FSA regulations, clients will be required to provide written instructions and proof of ID.
