Dido Arthur started her auction career following the completion of her BA in Combined Arts specialising in Art History and her MA in Victorian Studies. As a Senior Cataloguer at Bloomsbury Auctions for 33 years Dido has managed sales of countless libraries and all types of books. Her more notable auctions include sales of the Robert & Maria Travis collection of books on India and South East Asia, the Erica Spender architectural library (both 'white glove' sales with all lots sold), a magnificent private library of caricature and colour plate books, and the Charles Allix collection of horological books and manuscripts. A particular highlight for Dido was handling the sale of Lord Burlington’s own copy of the first edition of Palladio’s I Quattro Libri dell’Architettura, Venice, 1570 which sold for a premium inclusive price of £45,000.
