Justin Phillips joined the rare book auction world in 1996 after completing his degree in French Studies. His particular areas of interest are Early and Continental Printing. During his career Justin has overseen many specialist sales, including the Cetus Library of Food and Drink, Gardens and Social History and The John Landwehr Collection of Emblem Books. Highlights of his career include the sale of a Shakespeare First Folio previously unknown to West's Census and the first appearance at auction of the rare suppressed first edition, first issue of Thomas Paine’s Rights of Man, 1791.
