Modern Literature Specialist

Max specialises in Modern Literature. Following his graduation from Royal Holloway University with a BA in English Literature he spent five years at Bloomsbury Auctions. During this time he catalogued The Clive Hirschhorn Collection of Modern First Editions and developed the firm's successful run of biannual Modern Literature sales before joining colleagues in the founding of Forum Auctions in 2016. Whilst at Forum he has worked on private collections relating to Evelyn Waugh, Ian Fleming, Graham Greene, J.R.R. Tolkien, James Joyce and many others including the July 2021 Signed and Inscribed sale, the November 2024 John Cooper sale of detective fiction and the March 2025 sale of the library of Barry Humphries.
