Simon Downham is a Lawyer, Theologian, Priest, Spiritual Director and the Curator of the Bowerman Collection. He began professional life as a corporate lawyer with Slaughter and May. After studying theology in Oxford, Simon was ordained and served as Vicar of Hammersmith where a new extension building won the 2012 RIBA prize for best community building and Simon commissioned Charlie Mackesey to paint a major triptych of the life of Christ. In 2022, Simon took on curatorial responsibilities for the Bowerman Collection brought together by his late father-in-law, David Bowerman, and housed at the home of the Bowerman Charitable Trust at Champs Hill near Petworth in West Sussex.
