On Wednesday 7 October, Dreweatts held its Modern Design & Decorative Art auction. Highlights included three works by English artist, art historian and author Quentin Bell, a kinetic sculpture by Danny Lane, Mark Stoddart’s playful Cheeky Hippo dining table and colourful abstract sculptures by Jon Buck. The auction achieved £556,000, reaching 137% of its pre-sale estimate.

Gemma Sanders, Head of Modern Design & Decorative Art, commented: “The strong results reflect the optimism and confidence in collectible design and the design-led interior as an important and valued facet of the art market. International online bidding was strong, with interest from France, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands, alongside active participation from the US and UK.”
