Highlighted here we have Lot 766, a set of four exquisitely crafted Chinese pottery figures of attendants from the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). These figures are quintessential examples of Ming funerary art, created as tomb guardians or ceremonial companions to ensure the prosperity and protections of the deceased in the afterlife.
We then have a wonderful ceremonial headdress, collar and cuffs, originating from the Himalayan region and masterfully crafted in the 20th century. Embodying the spiritual and artistic traditions of the area, these pieces are adorned with an intricate array of turquoise, jasper, coral and other precious stones, mounted on ornate fabric. It is believed that the stones used in this set are much earlier than 20th century.
This mid-18th century secrétaire à abattant, crafted in the manner of Jean-Ulric Erstet. Constructed using well figured kingwood and tulipwood veneers, it showcases the elegance and craftsmanship of the Louis XV/XVI transitional period, and combines functional elements with refined aesthetics.
Here we have a matched pair of George III mahogany bedside commodes, circa 1780. They are classic examples of Georgian furniture, featuring sliding tambour doors, typical of bedroom furniture of the period. Being a pair, they are ready to place either side of a bed.
Finally, we have a collection of three modern Herend models of animals, comprising two penguins and a pelican, crafted in Hungary by the renowned Herend porcelain factory. Known for its hand-painted decoration and high-quality porcelain, Herend continues to produce iconic animal figures that reflect both artistic flair and fine craftsmanship. Additionally, the group of two Royal Copenhagen polar bears, standing at 14cm high, originates from the celebrated Danish porcelain manufacturer, famed for its delicate designs and intricate detailing.
