Just a stone's throw away from Dreweatts is the Grade I listed manor Shaw House. This summer they will once again be hosting the wonderful Altered States Open Air Sculpture Exhibition. Transforming their expansive Orangery Lawns into a sculpture park, this outdoor exhibition will showcase 75 works by 23 sculptors. It is open to the public (free entry) from Saturday 3 August - Sunday 29 September (11am-4pm), making for a great day out for the whole family, with dogs on leads welcome too.
Commenting on the exhibition, Curator Jim Crockatt said, "This wonderful exhibition started way back in 2018 because I thought it a fine thing to do. As a sculptor myself, I understood that many artists need to have the public see their works and there are many more gifted artists out there than there are venues to show their work. I approached the majestic manor that is Shaw House, set in magnificent lawned grounds, and enquired as to whether such a show could be realised and their response was absolutely yes. The shared enthusiasm of both parties have propelled this adventure forward and ever upwards."
