Having bought his first house in 2015, Jack joined Instagram as Tradchap posting pictures of his Georgian townhouse in Frome, Somerset, which gradually led to followers who admired the authentic Georgian interiors.
Jack never considered using Instagram as a selling platform until someone suggested it, and he started using it as a backdrop for selling his antiques which gradually led to commissions for people wanting their house decorated.
Selling antiques and working on interiors are often compatible and when furnishing houses Jack finds the knowledge of antique furniture very valuable to curate an authentic interior. He believes that all homes should have at least one antique, be it small or large as it adds soul and character to a room.
Jack considers his style as the well worn, lived in look. Having no interest in perfection, to him the beauty is in the imperfections and age of an item.
His recent projects have included a wonderful country house by Edwin Lutyens, a regency farmhouse in Monmouthsire countryside, a London townhouse and of course the renovation of his own house in Bruton, Somerset.
