Dreweatts are delighted to be hosting the acclaimed Art on a Postcard’s Summer Auction to raise funds for the invaluable work of The Hepatitis C Trust.
From 25 June - 9 July 2020 Dreweatts will host the acclaimed Art on a Postcard’s annual Summer Auction featuring – as always – a truly impressive and irresistible collection of original postcard sized artworks by a carefully selected roster of outstanding contemporary artists.
“I am delighted that Dreweatts are able to work with Art on a Postcard for their online Summer Auction, which combines three things that are very close to my heart - Art, Auctions and Charity.” - Jonathan Pratt, Managing Director, Dreweatts
Art on a Postcard (AOAP) raises money for The Hepatitis C Trust towards its campaign to eliminate hepatitis C in the UK by the year 2025. Artists and photographers who have taken part in their auctions in the past include Damien Hirst, Grayson Perry CBE, RA, Marina Abramoviç, Peter Blake, Gilbert and George, Wolfgang Tillmans, Marc Quinn and Cicely Brown. Started in 2014 and originally intended to be a one-off secret postcard auction, its success since created a small industry: in addition to their annual auctions they have hosted many events and now have a print shop that regularly releases sell out print editions, including Hate’s Outta Date by Harland Miller.
“Art on a Postcard is proud to be partnering with Dreweatts, and hoping its Summer Auction is Corona proof as their auctions have always taken place online. The Summer Auction will miss out on having a private view, but with Julian Opie’s blend of pop art and minimalism, Jake and Dinos Chapman’s distinctive iconoclasm and Oh da Laval’s erotic expressionism the auction is set to be as big a success as always.” - Gemma Peppé, Director, Art on a Postcard
With Boy George making his Art on a Postcard debut (after his sell-out show in Monaco last November) this summer’s auction promises to be no exception with a line-up of contributing artists and selection of works sure to get us all talking, sharing – and let’s hope bidding - to secure a piece of artwork that not only will deliver great pleasure to any new owner, but also much needed financial support to the invaluable work of this fantastic charity who have raised over three quarter of a million pounds to date through their auctions.
