The month of March marks the transition of winter into spring, bringing renewal and transformation. In the spirit of this, there is an excellent opportunity to transform your home with our Art & Interiors auction on Wednesday 4 March.
The auction opens with a selection of items from Swiftsden House, the property designed by prominent architect Sir Reginald Blomfield in the Arts & Crafts era.
Particularly on trend this season, we are seeing designers leaning into rich brown tones. As such, this collection offers design staples that will integrate seamlessly into the style of your home and create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Our top picks for those embracing this aesthetic include a 17th century oak refectory table and a mahogany open tub chair. The table is an interesting example with its carved apron, resting on baluster supports and is the perfect size for those that are fans of entertaining. Alternatively, the mahogany tub chair dating to circa 1835-1840, has the same warm tones but at a fraction of the size.
We are also excited to offer items that have been provided by Robert Kime Ltd., including a George III figured satinwood and kingwood crossbanded Pembroke table, circa 1795; and a late George III mahogany brass bound wine cooler and stand. The auction also features pieces by Soane Britain, such as a pair of Trousdale brass floor lamps; and from Vaughan Designs, a pair of Vaughan Hundi style glass globe lanterns .
This is a timed online auction, ending on Wednesday 4 March, from 10.30am GMT.
Please note that there will be no viewing available at Donnington Priory for this auction. Viewing is online only, however all items are comprehensively described and illustrated.
