Dreweatts is pleased to announce the introduction of modern design auctions. The venture will be led by Gemma Sanders, who joins Dreweatts as the Head of Modern Design and Decorative Art.

Dreweatts’ modern design auctions will cover all the new and aesthetically exciting design movements and fields of collectability that have come to characterise the diverse nature and ingenuity of the 20^th/21^st Century. Modernity in all its forms, from the ideals that led the Arts & Crafts movement, through Art Deco, through to mid-century and contemporary studio designers and makers. All manner of interiors ranging from furniture, glass, ceramics, lighting and decorative art, from early 20th century to contemporary pieces.

Collectors can look forward to an array of iconic designs, from early avant-garde designers like Charles Rennie MacIntosh, Christoper Dresser and Carlo Bugatti, iconic studio ceramicists such as Lucie Rie, John Ward and Gordon Baldwin, with celebrated mid-century designers and masters of post-war construction Charles and Ray Eames, Alvar Aalto, and Hans Wegner, amongst others, alongside emerging talents pushing today’s boundaries of modern design.

The inaugural modern design auction is set for 21 November 2024, promising a selection of pieces that embody the essence of modern design and decorative art. Dreweatts invites collectors, interior designers, and the public to join them in this exciting new venture.
